About bontoni

It started in a basement. Guido Gazzani handcrafted custom shoes for local nobility and merchants in the Italian Marche region, which has been the centre of Italy's shoemaking tradition for centuries. That home workshop, "casa e bottega", has never disappeared.

Today, nine master craftsmen work in the Bontoni workshop. They patiently produce seven to nine pairs a day, no more, no less. Each pair is made entirely by hand, using the finest leathers and techniques passed down from generation to generation.

Bontoni is one of the last established family ateliers of its kind in all of Italy. A shoe you recognize without having to read the label.

Home and workshop

Bontoni is one of the last in-home family workshops in Italy. The brand produces entirely in-house, from the first cut to the finished shoe.

7 pairs per day

Nine master craftsmen patiently produce seven to nine pairs a day. No compromises on pace at the expense of quality.

Finest leather types

Bontoni selects only the finest calfskin and suede. These materials are the foundation of every shoe and are chosen for their quality, character, and durability.

Wide range

From penny loafers and cavalier lace-ups to Chelsea welt boots and desert boots. Each model with the same dedication to detail and craftsmanship.
Frequently asked questions about Bontoni

Bontoni is one of the last family-owned workshops in Italy that produces entirely in-house. Nine master craftsmen patiently create seven to nine pairs a day, entirely by hand. The finest leathers and age-old techniques result in a shoe with character and unparalleled comfort.

OGÉR carries a selection of Bontoni lace-up shoes, loafers, and boots, including the penny loafer, cavaliere welt, guanto, chelsea welt, and desert welt. The assortment includes multiple leather types and colors.

Always use a shoehorn when putting on your shoes. Polish regularly with a color-matching shoe cream and store on a wooden shoe tree. For suede, we recommend an impregnation spray before use. Allow wet shoes to dry naturally, never on a heat source.

A Bontoni lace-up shoe in calfskin pairs excellently with a Corneliani or OGÉR suit. A penny loafer or guanto in suede fits perfectly with a smart casual ensemble featuring Jacob Cohën jeans and an OGÉR or Corneliani blazer.
