About Loro Piana
The Loro Piana family began trading woolen fabrics in 1924 in Trivero, at the foot of the Italian Alps. Franco Loro Piana started exporting fine fabrics; the rest of the family joined in the 1970s. Six generations later, the brand is still family-owned and controls the entire chain from fiber to finished product.
Loro Piana works with materials that are rarely processed elsewhere. Baby cashmere from young Hircus goats, Vicuña from the Andes, ultra-fine Merino wool and Pecora Nera from rare dark Merino sheep. Storm System makes cashmere and wool water-repellent without compromising their softness.
