About Brunello Cucinelli

Brunello Cucinelli started in 1978 in Solomeo, a fourteenth-century village in Umbria which he would later restore and make the brand's home base. He began with cashmere, not as a fashionable choice but as a conviction. The softness of the material obliged him to pursue uncompromising quality in everything that followed.

Today, the collection includes sweaters, cardigans, suits, blazers, shirts, polo shirts, t-shirts, jeans, trousers, jackets, body warmers, swimming trunks, shoes and accessories. Each piece made in Italy, with cashmere as a permanent reference point for what quality means.

Solomeo is not a backdrop. It is the reason why the brand is what it is. "In 10 years' time, I would like us to work in the same way as we do now. Trying to produce beautiful, special and contemporary products while respecting human sustainability."- Brunello Cucinelli

Cashmere as a starting point

Brunello Cucinelli started with cashmere, and the material continues to set the standard. From the finest sweaters to the lining of a jacket: cashmere is the benchmark against which every piece is measured.

Solomeo

The headquarters and atelier are located in the fourteenth-century Solomeo Castle, restored by Cucinelli himself. The village is the source of the brand and the reason it is different from others.

Family business

Founded in 1978 by Brunello Cucinelli, still family-owned. Three generations, the same conviction about what quality means.

Full wardrobe

From cashmere sweater to swim shorts, from suit to sneaker. Brunello Cucinelli covers the modern gentleman’s entire wardrobe with the same attention to quality in every piece.
Frequently asked questions about Brunello Cucinelli

Brunello Cucinelli is an Italian fashion designer and entrepreneur, born in 1953 in Castel Rigone. He founded his brand in 1978 in Solomeo, Umbria, where the headquarters and workshop are still located today. The brand is still led by the Cucinelli family.

Brunello Cucinelli started with cashmere, and that material still sets the standard for everything the brand creates. Production takes place entirely in Italy, in Solomeo. The brand combines exceptional material quality with a business philosophy that places people and the environment at its core.

Both brands are Italian luxury brands with cashmere at their core, but with their own unique character. Loro Piana controls the entire fiber chain and is known for the softest materials in the world. Brunello Cucinelli distinguishes itself with a broader ready-to-wear collection and a distinct brand philosophy from Solomeo. Both brands are available at OGÉR.

Cashmere is the brand's central material, but Brunello Cucinelli also works with the finest wool, linen, cotton, and silk. The fabrics are selected from the best Italian and European weavers. For Cucinelli, the quality of the material is the starting point of each piece, not the end result.
