About L.G.R.

In 2005, Luca Gnecchi Ruscone travelled with his grandfather Raffaello Bini to Asmara, Eritrea, to retrieve what had been taken from the family during the revolution of the 1970s. In the optics shop his grandfather had run from 1930 to 1974, Luca found a collection of sunglasses that had been imported from Italy half a century earlier. He took them back with him and they generated great interest.

Luca sought out the original Italian manufacturers and started a modest production of authentic frames using the traditional artisanal techniques he had rediscovered. Each L.G.R. frame is entirely handmade by three Italian artisan families. The production process takes eight to fourteen weeks: from the selection of Italian cellulose acetate to the manual polishing of each frame.

Every frame is designed to last generations. High-quality materials, artisanal construction and a timeless design.
