History
Loro Piana was founded in 1924 by an Italian family from the village of Trivero, nestled in the Italian Alps. The family began by trading woolen fabrics. After 1950, the family moved to Valsea and founded Lanificio Lora e Compagnia, headed by Lanificio di Quarona di Zignone & C. Franco Loro Piana soon began exporting fine fabrics. The rest of the family joined the company's ongoing business in the 1970s.

Loro Piana is characterized by its luxurious men's and women's clothing made from unique materials: ultra-soft merino wool, vicuña wool, baby cashmere, and pecora nera – a very rare, dark Merino sheep.
